No budget yet for BC or Washington state

As of June 27 2013, the Legislature in Olympia, Wash. has yet to come to an agreement regarding the budget for schools in Washington state. The result will have an effect on all schools in the state, including community and technical colleges. If lawmakers do not reach a decision quickly, the fate of over 26,000 jobs are unknown. Although all state workers have been receiving several messages regarding the possible effects the impending result may have, these possibilities do not threaten any students, faculty or staff at Bellevue College. BC President David Rule assures that no layoffs at BC will be as a result of the ruling. In the case that a budget is not passed by June 30th, which is the current deadline, BC will operate off local funds.
