The new online system is able to help students walk through the whole application process.

The Scholarship Foundation’s website also provides last year’s scholarship guidebook to give students a picture and example of the types of scholarships offered and eligibility requirements. The BC Foundation works very closely with departments such as the Center for Career Connections, Multicultural Services and the Disability Resource Center to assists students with their applications.

Kingsbury-Comeau reminded students who are going to apply for need-based scholarships to apply for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. For the 2012-2013 BC Foundation Scholarship recipients, the BC Foundation is going to hold its Donor Scholar reception on Nov. 7, 2012. The event will allow scholarship recipients to meet with the donors and board members, and celebrate the achievement of the students. All BC Foundation scholarships are to be used at BC only and can be applied to tuition, fees and in some cases, books.

The BC Foundation Scholarship Committee determines scholarship recipients. Each year, more than 200 applicants apply for BC Foundation Scholarships. “All of the scholarships applicants are winners in my mind. They are well on the road to achieving their educational dreams. The Bellevue College Foundation would be very happy if it had enough scholarships funding to award each and every applicant. We hope to be able to do that in the future,” said Kingsbury-Comeau.
