Lori Saffin, instructor and Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) advisor, sponsored by Amanda Alva, ASG president, requested that the ASG approve $4,030 to cover a guest speaker for BC Identities Week. A motion to approve the request was amended to include cost of renting the Carlson Theater for the event. A motion to approve the amended request passed 5-0-0.
Vicki Waiking Ma, VP of finance and communication, motioned to allocate $460 from the club’s 1984 Reserve account to pay students a stipend for volunteering to serve food during the upcoming ASG Election Barbeque. The motion passed 5-0-0.
Burke Colquhoun, emerging technology and entrepreneurial representative motioned to adopt a proposal that would the make the Robert’s Rules of Order, the ASG’s traditional method for conducting official board meetings, a rule in the ASG bi-laws. The motion passed 5-0-0.
