Denise L. Johnson found sociology by accident. She enrolled in a sociology class because she needed the credits. Johnson said, however, she fell in love with the topics, and discussions. Specifically, how they changed the way she viewed the world around her. Once she realized her passion for sociology, it wasn’t long before one class turned to three, then four, and eventually, she was taking a class every quarter; eager to learn more. Finally she decided to pursue sociology as a career, so she could continue to be a part of the sociology experience, and also share her passion with others. I attended Johnson’s SOC101 class last spring; it is a basic introduction to sociology class, but having Johnson for an instructor brought the subject and classroom to life.
