Gay Straight Alliance and Family Diversity Project bring show that examines homosexuality, family life.
By David DiPetrillo
BCC is featuring an artistic series of photographs by Gigi Kaeser making a social commentary on homosexuality in America. The exhibit is located in the L-building lounge and brought to BCC with the help of the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and Family Diversity Projects.
“Love Makes a Family” is a traveling exhibit that has the goal of breaking the stereotypes of homosexuality by displaying photographs, interviews, and individual stories of families around the country that have lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) members. The exhibit encourages people of all ages to accept people for who they are and to rise above the destructive power of social prejudices, intolerance, and lies to make the world a safer and more educated place for everyone.
The photographs depict everyday people leading a normal life looking exactly like everybody else. No controversy, no flamboyance, none of the stereotypes
