I am really having a hard time understanding why so many people fall in to the trap of movie sequels.
As the box office stats report, only 32% of sequels get a mediocre review.
No one ever tries to make a crashing film, but it happens. Especially when there’s a II, or III in the title.
Yet, again and again we all go and see them; because the original was so amazing, and blew our minds we actually believed that they can do it again.
This summer there are so many movies that just came out or about to come out that are just remakes, or additions on to what we have already seen.
I am waiting for the all new, right-now, original to come to theaters. I’m tired of watching the same story I already know.
For instance, Bruno, Transformers, (Although, even the second one had me loving it), Star Trek, and so on.
The movie business is definitely on top of its game this summer as it has all sorts of crowds lining up at the door to watch a film they have already seen.
I just don’t think we will ever understand that nothing can beat the original version.
Further more, some movies on the other hand just need to know when to quit, like the “Bring it On” line.
I mean I’ll admit I like the first one with Kirsten Dunst, saw the second, and was disappointed then low and behold there was a third, and I saw it too.
They just keep going downhill, and there is another one coming out this summer… for that one I will have the willpower to stay away.
Same goes for the SAW movies, those didn’t so much as go downhill as just get old.
I mean we have seen four others how many more twists can there be, and by the fifth I can honestly say not many.
The only thing worse than the on-going films are the ones that are actually suppose to be the same thing, to mention; “Another Cinderella Story”, and the new one coming out this summer.
The only thing entertaining about sequels is that some are so bad they are funny.
