Tommy Lasorda delivers inspirational speech at BCC

Last Friday the Bellevue Community College cafeteria no longer exhibited the bright lights and fast food that we have come to expect from the setting. Instead, floral tables were host to shirts and ties, and an array of fine dining. Ambient jazz music played in the dim lit room as adults and young people alike came together to celebrate and learn about baseball. Legendary Baseball manager Tommy Lasorda had arrived at BCC to inspire the Bulldogs to succeed in their upcoming season. Before Lasorda approached the stage, a video documenting his career as a manager was shown. The scenes showed a passionate, committed and sensitive character, who took nothing in his life seriously, but baseball.
