Women shut-out Edmonds

BCC Forward Betsi Darling kicks a goal past the goalkeeper

On Saturday, September 27, after a scoreless first half, the BCC bulldogs rallied four goals in the second half to shut out the Edmonds Tritons.
The first half was a battle between the midfielders. Keeping the ball out of the other team’s hands was the key for both teams.
“Both teams started out strong,” said Frank Lee, BCC women’s soccer coach.
Given that it was a particularly nice day for late September, the weather played little factor in the game.
Plays of note in the first half consisted of a late free kick by Edmonds that failed to put a goal on the board. After that came an Edmonds defended BCC drive.
During half time, Frank Lee switched positions and told the team that the weather was not a factor.
The second half consisted of the same play, then erupted with a goal by Daniela Gonzalez, assisted by Rachael at 57 minutes. Then came two goals by Betsi Darling at 62 minutes and 73 minutes.
“We stayed with the game,” said Frank Lee.
The final goal was a shot to the corner with an assist by Megan Dalgeish.
“The goal was set up with a perfect pass from Megan,” said April Saffell.
“It was a nice, easy shot.”
Edmonds coaches and team declined for comment.
