Soccer teams gearing up for end of season

Even though fall quarter may be only halfway through, the BC men and women’s soccer teams are almost done with their seasons for the quarter. With three weeks left to go until the NWAACC Finals, both teams are focused on practicing for the big games and winning the ones they have on the way there.

Currently, BC men’s soccer has a record of six losses, one tie, and six wins. The team took losses from Tacoma Community College, Peninsula College, Highline Community College, Edmonds Community College, Whatcom Community College, and Skagit Valley Community College. On Oct. 14, the BC men’s soccer team tied with Peninsula College. As for wins, they have defeated South Puget Sound, Treasure Valley, Olympic Community College, Shoreline Community College, Tacoma Community College, and Olympic Community College again. Some of the men’s highest scoring games were against South Puget Sound with a final score of 8-1 and another game against Everett ending at 5-1. Their most recent game on Oct. 22 was against OCC which the men won with a final score of 3-1.

As for BC women’s soccer, the team has five losses, five ties, and six wins. The women lost against Everett Community College, Edmonds Community College, Peninsula College, Highline Community College, and Tacoma Community College. They have tied with Pierce Community College, Skagit Valley, Shoreline Community College, Whatcom Community College, and Tacoma Community College. BC women’s soccer has defeated Columbia Basin Community College, Olympic Community College, Green River Community College, Everett Community College, Edmonds Community College, Grays Harbor, Lower Columbia Community College, and Olympic Community College again. Some of their most notable wins include a thirteen point shutout against Greys Harbor and a seven point shutout against Lower Columbia Community College. Their most recent game, like the men’s team, was on Oct. 22 against OCC which they won with a final result of 3-0.

BC men’s soccer coach Andrew Croft and BC women’s soccer coach Kiko Magana were not available for comment on the team’s progress.
