It’s spring time, which means new sports for the season! We are introducing baseball, softball, and tennis to Bellevue College to represent us as we bid good-bye to both our men and women’s basketball. Our basketball teams did amazing during the NWAACCs. The Men came in first place in the North Division, while the Women came in a tie for second place in the North Division. Way to go! With spring season coming up, our Women’s Tennis team is starting practice and has already hit one win against Western Washington University. Being undefeated for six consecutive years, Jason Chapman is ready to take on another amazing year with the girls. With the majority of the team being newcomers, Jason feels strong that they can still pull through and accomplish victories. Softball came from a great season last year in 2010, having the record of 32-11 and being top eight in NWAACCs. Holding titles from years past, this season will definitely be exciting for our softball team. Having Leah Francis on board yet again will help this team achieve greatness this season. Having six straight NWAACC championship tournament appearances on her belt will benefit the team greatly. According to the Bellevue College website, the BC Baseball team has been ranked the top team in the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years, and this year will be another amazing year for the Bulldogs. Taking the NWAACC title in 2009 and 2007, we are excited for the team to achieve even more this year. Having Mark Yoshino coaching is going to help this team go the distance. Although our weather has not been cooperating with the team’s practice, they will be building up their strengths through workouts keeping the team strong and ready for their matches/games.
