There have been a couple of updates in the Financial Aid department but the department wants students to be aware of two important ones. One, deadlines have been updated and students who want to receive Financial Aid in the 2013-2014 year must reapply by completing both the 2013-14 Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the 2013-14 BC Financial Aid Application.
The deadlines go as following; for summer quarter 2013 the due date would be March 15, 2013, fall quarter 2013’s due date is May 3, 2013, winter 2014’s deadline is Oct. 4 2013, and spring quarter 2014’s deadline is Jan. 24 2014. Students must turn in their applications before these deadlines. If looking for more details, refer to the BC Financial Aid website: www.fa.bellevuecollege.edu/apply. If students have any questions about the applications process, they may call or visit the Financial Aid office at 425-564-2227.
The second issue is the Free Tax Assistance and FAFSA workshops offered by the BC Financial Aid Office. These workshops are designed to help students who earned less than $57,000 in 2012 and plan to file a 1040A or 1040EZ. They help by showing students how to correctly fill these forms out and then they are able to help students fill out their FAFSA afterwards.
These workshops will be on different dates and on different times so as to suit the student’s schedules. The first workshop is held Feb. 15, 2013, the second is held on March 15, 2013, and the last one will be held on April 12, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in room A-134 on all three days. For them to be helped, students must bring in their own needed documents. Again, any questions or concerns must be directed to the Bellevue College
