Going through college without the proper textbooks or tools would be next to impossible but for the kids on the Bellevue College campus who aren’t able to acquire these resources on their own, there is always the BC Bookstore. In the past couple of months, the bookstore has brought many beneficial changes in order to keep helping students in whatever way that they can. As for the future, the staff of the BC Bookstore are already working on bringing even more products to the shelves for students.
Right now, any BC student can walk into the bookstore and rent an iPad for just $55 per quarter, a netbook for just $35 and a calculator for $35. Coming very soon to the BC Bookstore will be the Bamboo tablet. The Bamboo tablet is a tablet designed for those who are artistically inclined and need to draw or sketch out things for class or just for fun. Like the iPad, the Bamboo tablet will be available to rent at a steal of just $55 per quarter.
As far as anymore future updates go, the BC bookstore staff is trying their hardest to get more book rentals available to students. “Students love rentals. When you take classes like statistics… Who wants to actually keep that book after they’re done with the class?” said Tony Blanchett, supervisor of the BC Bookstore.
To Blanchett, the best part of having the BC bookstore here on campus are the deals and prices it brings to students. “You know, my boss is always trying to find more ways to lower the cost for students and to lower the amount of cash students are putting into the cash register. You never hear that in business,” Blanchett said.
So, for any readers who are in need of a cheap rental textbook, or who just need a netbook, iPad or calculator to get through next quarter, stop by the Bellevue College Bookstore where anyone is sure to find a deal. The bookstore is open Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
