May 5 Floyd vs. Manny?

Could it be? Will we finally see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao? Floyd Mayweather has recently stated that he has set aside May 5 2012, for the biggest fight possible.  One of Mayweather’s advisers was quoted as saying; “We’re looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella.”

We all know who  he is referring to when he says, “little fella,” Manny Pacquiao.  Manny’s camp has come out and said that they aren’t buying what Floyd is saying and won’t concern themselves with future fights until they get through the Juan Manuel Marquez fight on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum was quoted “Listen, we’re not going to consider anything until after the Marquez fight.”  Every boxing fan out there wants to see these top two fighters right now up against each other, and with Mayweather making statements like this we can only hope the time will be May 5. We will now just have to wait again and see.

The money for both sides would be upwards of $50 million apiece. Manny Pacquiao and his team show that they are definitely serious about wanting this fight, but question if Floyd Mayweather really wants it or is just trying to steal the spot light away from Manny’s upcoming fight.  There are many hurdles that still need to be jumped before the two would sign the contract to fight.

For one, why would Floyd go out and pick a venue when neither fighter has shopped around to get top dollar to fight in a particular venue. Mayweather also has some pending legal issues where he is currently facing four felony charges steaming from an altercation with his ex-girlfriend.

This gives the Pacquiao camp to think of this as nothing but a “joke.” Just by the looks of things it seems that the two will fight if Manny can beat Marquez on Nov. 12.

It seems now that Manny Pacquiao has said he would agree to Olympic style drug testing when he is training in the U.S. ,Floyd Mayweather seems like he wants the fight more than ever. Fans are getting over anxious, it seems only right.

The only way that it will happen now is if after November 12 both camps can get together and meet on terms both agree to. Mayweather has started the conversation again, now its time for them to both deliver on their end to give us what we all want Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2012!
