On Thursday, Oct. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in N201, Bellevue College students will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Blake Nordstrom, president of Nordstrom Inc.
While only 52 years old, Nordstrom has had plenty of experience in business and life not common at his age. He will be sharing some of the most important experiences and lessons he learned so far in his career with the students and staff of BC.
Prior to becoming president of Nordstrom Inc. in August 2000, Nordstrom previously served as executive vice president and president of Nordstrom Rack from February 2000 to August 2000 and as co-president of the company from 1995 to February 2000. Prior to that, he served as the co-president responsible for credit, community relations, operations, shoes and Nordstrom Rack business units from June 1995 to February 2000 and as vice president and general manager of Washington state/Alaska since 1991. He began his career working in the stockroom of the downtown Seattle store in 1975.
Nordstrom also currently serves as director of The Jim Pattison Group Inc. and has also been on the board of directors for the Downtown Seattle Association since 1992. He served as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Seattle branch, from 2004 to 2006 and as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 2007 to 2012. Nordstrom served as a director of Whole Foods Inc. from 2011 to 2012.
